Therapy should be a safe, transformative space for learning - start here!

  • Therapy is for everyone! My practice particularly benefits LGBTQ+ individuals, but I work with any adult looking to learn, grow, and participate in the beautiful process that is your therapy journey. The beautiful thing about therapy is that it can be tailored to your unique needs and preferences. Some weeks you’ll need a safe space to vent, and other weeks you may want to dive into some harder truths; Because I draw upon psychodynamic, relational, and strengths-based talk therapy techniques, as well as a blend of CBT, expressive arts, Somatic Experiencing and Mindfulness practices, we’ve got room to be flexible in our therapeutic approach based on your weekly needs and focus our energies on what matters most to YOU.

*A note: From time to time clients would benefit from either more or less support than I am able to offer; and I will be happy to connect you to other resources, if and when that feels necessary.

  • First and foremost you can expect a safe, trusted container through which you can explore as deeply as you’d like to. Some weeks you may want to process old thought patterns and internalized messages; other times you may want to learn new skills that will assist you in your daily life. You can also expect a certain degree of encouragement from me to guide you through new ways of relating, both to myself and to others in your life. You will always have a say in how the sessions are structured.

  • Somatic Experiencing is a gentle and empowering approach to healing and resilience. It recognizes that our bodies hold onto the effects of stress and trauma, often resulting in physical and emotional discomfort. Through Somatic Experiencing, we learn to listen to our body's wisdom and gradually release stored tension, helping us reconnect with a sense of safety and well-being. It's like giving your body a compassionate hug, allowing it to restore balance and harmony. This requires both informed consent and moving at the speed that works for you.

  • My identity as a white, queer, fat, upper-middle-class, able-bodied, cisgender woman of Jewish and European heritage means that I will always be fully committed to ongoing learning regarding privilege, white supremacy, disability justice, and oppression. I do not believe therapy can ever be a space free from impacts of oppression, but I will continue to seek frequent consultations for feedback through a diverse network of supervisors, colleagues, and my own therapist. Additionally, as a child-free human, I approach my work with parents and caregivers with a blend of humility and experience after years of working with children and families in various contexts.

  • Because my services are of the highest and most ethical quality, I charge a premium fee. From time to time I am able to accept discounted rates; if this is something that would benefit you, please include that information when contacting. I am also able to connect you to phenomenal therapists who may be a better financial fit for you.

Other financial information: I do not accept insurance, but I am able to provide monthly statements for insurance reimbursement. Please ensure your out-of-network benefits with your insurance prior to contacting if interested. I securely accept debit cards and credit cards.

  • Consistent attendance greatly improves the efficacy of therapy. This fact, in addition to the fact that I reserve a weekly spot in my schedule for each client (50-minute sessions for individuals or 70-minute sessions for couples), means that I have a strict cancellation policy. We can discuss this policy in greater detail during the beginning of our work together.

  • This is totally normal! The quality of the relationship between you and your therapist is the largest predictor of success in therapy, so I offer a complimentary 20-minute phone or in-person consultation to help us both determine if we think we’re a good fit. If not, I can steer you towards a spectacular referral.
